Therapy is a process of healing and changing from one way of living to new way of being. At times, we all are overwhelmed by the demands of making key decisions. Feeling overwhelmed can show up as: anxiety and fears, destructive habits, depression and hopelessness, avoidance and procrastination, reactive patterns that create chaos at work or at home, … the possibilities are endless.
Learning and growing the needed skills for personal healing, clear thinking and feeling centered is often the first aim of therapy. Finding a path forward to better living depends on my own ability to calm and soothe myself, followed by developing the ability to focus my attention to the challenges that are being faced.
Life can accelerate faster every week, even every day. Facing new demands and pressures, we may often face uncertainties over how to move forward. Challenges can further defeat our best efforts when traumatic experiences and self-limiting beliefs stand in our way. Therapy aims to strengthen a person’s resources to resolve the past, to meet the demands of the present, and, to courageously pursue hopes for a better future.
